Internationally acclaimed saxophonist Claudia Tesorino (Schaetzle) has performed all over Europe, North America, in Vietnam and India. She has been invited to perform by several Goethe-Institutes, German and Canadian Consulates and is a grant recipient of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
Since 2011 based in Berlin, she regularly gives recitals ranging from baroque to contemporary compositions, premiering works composed for her, accompanied by piano and organ and with the saxophone duo Duonità.
In her show project, “The Dancing Saxophone”, Claudia introduces her audience to a variety of new arrangements she commissioned for solo saxophone and band, taken from dances from the classical, jazz and popular repertoire.
The German-Canadian artist performed in various saxophone ensembles with whom she has recorded several CDs. Her performances have been broadcast on North Country Public Radio, CJNT Montréal, Phoenix TV, Hessischer, Bayerischer, Westdeutscher and Saarländerischer Rundfunk as well as Deutschlandfunk.
Her debut CD, recorded with organ in the Altenberger Dom, was released by Haas Classic Cologne.
Claudia holds degrees in classical saxophone performance from the Musikhochschule Würzburg, Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt, Conservatoire de Musique de Bordeaux, Bowling Green State University, and in Jazz Studies from Concordia University in Montréal.
